Suse's Poem

A menopausal blunder!

Now where the hell did I park my car?
I’m sure it was on floor two
What’s the registration number you ask?
MY god, I’ve forgot that too!
But never mind that I tell myself
When at last I’m on the road
At least I’m not late for school this time
As my hot shiny red face glowed

We’re heading for home – it’s a wonder sometimes how -
I manage to stay in one piece!
The lollypop lady gives me her usual wave
And behind her I spot the police!
Oh my god I’m thinking -
Now what have I done, as I try to remember my route
The confusion has hold as I glance in the mirror and there is the lid of my boot!

How long have I been driving along like that -
I swear it was ok at the school!
The girls would have noticed, or somebody else?
I’m trying to keep my cool.
I pull over and wave as I jump out the car
I am trying to explain that I’m sorry
A big flush takes a hold so I whip off my coat
But the copper drives off in a hurry!

Bum bum!
